Watchmen Trailer

Dr. Manhattan (played by Billy Crudup)I should be seeing this on Sunday when I traipse up to St. Louis to see The Dark Knight in Imax, but even in a super-tiny web format, Zack Snyder’s first trailer for Watchmen is absolutely stunning. It seems like more of a “mood” trailer than a story/concept trailer, and that suits me just fine.

Mike Wieringo – Rest in Peace

The comic world has lost one of its greatest talents today. Mike Wieringo (his website appears to be down at the moment, probably due to a massive surge of hits), best known for his work on The Flash, The Fantastic Four, and numerous Spider Man titles has passed away at the way-too-young-age of 44. Details are scarce, of course, but it appears to have been a heart attack.

My thoughts and my heartfelt concern go out to his family and friends. I didn’t know him personally, but his art and his amazing skill made him feel like my friend.

Oh my god. It’s…it’s Iron Man

I’m wiping tears away as I write this (and no, I am not joking or being hyperbolic), so I will keep it brief. The Comic-Con ’07 footage of Iron Man has swaggered it’s way onto YouTube, and I can finally die a happy man. I won’t attempt to describe it, and I will instead rely upon a single word that sums up my feelings well: hawesome. Watch it, love it, mark the date on your calendars. This, my friends, is the movie I have been waiting to see since I was 7.

Watch it here, or face my delicious wrath.

edit: The copyright police have taken down the youtube link, so I guess I will just keep my eyes open for another mirror. Amazing how a free presentation at a convention designed to build hype is somehow bad for tons of people to see (given the awesomeness of it). Oh well.

editedit: You can now download the file as an mpg here. Get it while it is hot!

edit edit edit: The trailer is now up in glorious Quicktime on Apple’s website! Watch and enjoy the delicious flavor!

Batman 2.0

Aint it cool news has the scoop on the new batsuit.  It looks pretty slick to me.  Kind of robotic, which I wasn’t expecting, but it also looks sleek and kind of brawler-ish.  I trust Christopher Nolan implicitly, so I know that he will make this look awesome in motion.
