    The Raw Shark Texts
    by Steven Hall

An astoudning debut novel from Steven Hall. It plays with so many conventions and concepts that a blurb like this can't do it justice. Just read it. Trust me.

  • Armor

    Armor
    by John Steakley

An old-school sci-fi romp in the vein of Heinlein without all that fascist political warbling. Well worth picking up. It's rough around the edges, but has some interesting narrative devices at play and solid characters. Recommended and loaned by a student (thanks Mike!).

  • The Big Over Easy

The Big Over Easy: A Nursery Crime
    by Jasper Fforde

The first in Fforde's "Nursery Crime" series starring Detective Inspector Jack Spratt (yes, that one). Well plotted, Terry Pratchett levels of dry hilarity and an all around good read.

About

Hi. My name is Tim. I look like this after a good long weekend. I assure you, despite being one of the undead, I am quite a capable artist and designer. The rigor mortis that has set in has only proven to enhance my skills and refine my delicate design sensibilities.

I draw comic books, write stories, and know far too much about Photoshop, Illustrator, web standards, and some programming languages that have silly names. I also teach, have a wife and daughter that I love dearly, and drive a car that should be driven by a teenager. If none of that has frightened you off (even the brains eating thing?), feel free to get a hold of me at timothy.baskin [at] gmail.com.

You may also download a copy of my resume in PDF format if you would like to take a look at that.
